  1. Actually the values were the same within experimental error.  As in any experiment, there is always errors associated with measurements.  The object of an experiment then is to make a measurement and report that measurement AND the error associated with that measurement.
  2. The magic eight ball is a toy that looks like a large black eight ball from a pool table.  It has a small window on one side that displays a floating message.  The idea is to ask a yes or no question and then look at the answer in the eight ball.
